Does anyone know of the site where you can pay the 20.00 dollars to download the software and then all you do is plug your data cable in to phone PC and way if Or should I wait for my server ATT to do it over the internet while your phone is running on WiFi like it did when it went from gingerbread to jellybean about 6 months ago or sooner when it actullay to place but it work perfect, no complaints what so ever, down load went great phone worked perfect and so so much better!

Uh, what? Your question is a bit jumbled but I'll try to answer it anyway.

First off, If the software you're referring to is Samsung Kies, which is a proprietary program similar to iTunes and has similar fucntions, you should NOT have to pay any sort of fee to download it. Also, regarding Jelly Bean 4.2 for your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3, I'm afraid there's no way you'll receive it officially for your device anytime soon. If you really need 4.2.2 on your device, I suggest you look for custom ROMs such as CyanogenMod to get your fix.;)

Just to amplify on the above post. ROMs (which include the Android OS) are carrier and device specific. The only S3 devices for which 4.2.2 is available (and only as a test version, I think), are the international, i9300, model of the phone. If you try to install that software on your AT&T phone you will turn your phone into a very expensive door stop. Unless you're technically proficient, I would suggest waiting for AT&T to provide an update.

In other words, don't screw around with your phone.

Rumor has it that Samsung will roll 4.3 out instead of 4.2.2. However I wouldn't expect until maybe the end of the year. It has to get tested... then go to the carriers... then to us. Big lineup of people.

I would be surprised if they skip an OS increment. If I am not mistaken 4.3 builds off of 4.2 does it not?

Yes, but it's not like Google sends the manufacturers a patch. Google provides a complete, working OS and source code, so the manufacturers could skip 4.2.2 if they wanted, and apply their changes directly to 4.3. But given that Samsung has shown 4.2.2 for the international version, I'd assume they've already put most of the effort needed to incorporate Touchwiz into 4.2.2, and won't throw that work away.

I was thinking that, too.

I believe this has been pretty much confirmed for the Note 2. There was a fair bit of talk that the S3 was going to skip 4.2 as well and just get the 4.3 update whenever the Note 2 does.

Posted via Android Central App on my Note 2!

Samsung has confirmed that S3 S4 and the Notes will get updates through at least 5.0. The rumor is they skip 4.2.2, although I'm sure carriers might have their input.

As far as Samsung "rumors", the 4.3 will be the next update for GS 3 and Note 2. They want to skip 4.2.2 completely and none of the service providers (carriers) have at least given the test OS for 4.2.2.

I'm curious where all these "facts" come from. Zach, do you have a link to an actual Samsung statement (not a rumor) that the S3 will get upgraded to 5.0? I've never seen an official statement that the S3 will get upgraded to 4.3, much less 5.0.

mssca, how do you know that none of the carriers have gotten 4.2.2? Any public sources, or just more rumors?

Well, not exactly an official Samsung statement. A leak from an unnamed source which lists phones that "may get the Android 5.0 upgrade."
