I have noticed that my ThunderBolt was having errors from apps that would attempt to access the data during the device was in sleep mode, this was due to the data connection completely disconnecting when the device entering the sleep state..
Yesterday I had enough of dealing with it and I decides to try some testing and I found a interesting solution for this issue..
It seems that the setting located under Settings / Wireless and Network / Mobile Network / Enable Always On Mobile Data needs to be unchecked.. When it is checked I loose data connection every time the device is sleep but with this unchecked I was able to go through a whole day without one dropped data connection... Give it a try and see if it works for others..
