Solution to battery life problem

Im happy this topic came back up.
My experience with Juice Defender and other Apps like EasyBatterySaver have not been great.

This pic is when I was running JuiceDefender for about 3 days. I thought it was not working right since my battery life was suffering but I figured everyone says to give it a few cycles to learn your habits and work properly. You can see the long gradual decline in the middle, this is when I was sleeping. SOMETHING was causing a pretty bad drain at night. I got good hours out of the battery but poor usage.

This was taken today. I uninstalled JuiceDefender yesterday and gave it a full charge. I read some articles on Pulse for about an hour and a bit before bed(couldnt sleep). The flatline is where I was asleep, and again when I was driving to work. The drain is gone and I got more usage out of the battery already.. Only change is uninstalling JuiceDefender.

I know these results aren't typical as people seem to be having good results with this app, and apps like it, but they don't seem to work on my phone.
EasyBatterySaver yielded similar results. I uninstalled and noticed better battery life instantly.......

Correct me if I'm wrong but neither of these could have been taken with JD running.... Your WiFi is constantly connected and the phone was not awake. JD disconnects WiFi when the phone is not awake and reconnects when the phone is in use, something is wrong here.

Ya, I thought so too.
But when I turned on my phone there were little red dots on the JD logo on the top left corner. I had to wait 2 seconds or less before I could do anything data related, so it shut something off.
I was running JD on balanced and also tried it on aggressive.
All I know is that once I uninstalled it, battery life got better.

I have juice defender on my gs3 and I dont see a difference. I kept it on for 2 month because ive tried everu settings to c which is better for my phone... I dont like it. It does nothing for my phone.

I'm not a fan of Juice Defender or any of the other battery saving apps. They're more hype than anything. I can manually do the things necessary to get the most of my battery. Why do I want another app running in the background using system processes and thus BATTERY?

If you really want to see your battery performance increase, as well as general performace and ability to customize across the board, look into unlocking/rooting and flash a custom kernel. I regularly get ~5hrs SOT using Franco's kernel(s).

I'm a proof is in the pudding kind of guy, so if it's working for you (placebo or not) that's great, but most developers and persons generally more knowledgable than the average users do not recommend "juice defender" type apps.
