Some apps causing the last few notes on songs to repeat.

I have a CAT S41 running Android 7.0 Nougat w/ latest updates. Some apps (first it was Reddit, but Amazon Shopping started doing it today) cause the last note on a song to repeat for a few seconds, or sometimes just long enough to make the sound sound choppy/skippy. I have to open recent apps and go back into said app to temporarily resolve it, or just close and re open the app. The player I am using is PowerAudio Pro (I got it when it was on free "sale", if that matters). Although I have 5.5 years of Android experience and have quite a bit of geeky tech knowledge about Android and Android devices, I cannot figure out why it is doing this. I really don't feel like changing players. Any help on how to resolve this would be appreciated.
