Some apps down have the little number to tell you theres a message...

So i just switched from IOS to android and one of the things I noticed is that in the notifications I haven't found the option to have a little number (IOS calls these numbers badges) on some apps like gmail or snapchat. It seems like this is only an automatic option on system apps.

Am I just missing this option?

Welcome to Android Central! Unread badges are typically only for certain apps, and it depends on the UI. For example, on my Zenfone 2, the ZenUI has unread badges for Gmail and Facebook, but not Google+.

If you want more unread badges, you could try Notifyer Unread Count.
