Some contacts missing in phone app while visible in contacts app

On my galaxy s6 edge, I have all my contacts visible in the contacts app. However, when I go to the phone app and use the number dial mode, some contacts are not showing up.
Anyone knows how to fix this so that all my contacts will show up?

They are one in the same from my experience so you'll have to give some more info. Are you all stock, no dialer apps? When you say they don't show up do you mean while dialing they aren't suggested? Which contacts aren't showing up, Google, phone, Facebook?

I am also having the same problem. I have contacts from my email primarily that do not show up in the natvie dialer phone app. I use a 'Microsoft Exchange' account. I never had this problem on the S5. When i transferred all my contacts from my s5 to my s7 using SmartSwitch it copied all contacts (regardless of where they were from) and stored them directly on the phone, not sure if that is relevant or not.
