Some N4 questions from a new android user...

I've been using the free app, 'Quick Profiles' from Google Play store. I've been using it for a couple years when I got my Droid Bionic and now on my Nexus4. You can customize to your hearts content on calls, notifications, media notifications, call volume, alarm volume, etc.
I have 4 profiles setup:
Home (everything on)
Work (more quieter notifications/calls on)
Silent (everything completely off - bedtime)
Work oncall (All notifications off, but allow phone calls). This sounds like what your particularly interested in?

Good luck and welcome to the Android community! :)

This is exactly what i'm looking for... I'll install it as soon as i get my device. Thanks!

Looks like a good app. I will check it out. Thanks.

I installed quick profiles and couldn't find any way of allowing for phone calls yet silencing notifications. Do you have a nexus 4. The only option is ringer+notifications which defeats the purpose.

So I think I've found a good alternative to bedside mode for android. I just service flow light to handle all sounds, vibrations and led. Then set the option to stop all of those when the phone is charging. This way calls can still ring through but everything else is silent.

I use NFC tags. NFC Launcher can also work without tags just with widgets.
