For whatever mysterious reason, I noticed today that about 6 or more app icons on my various pages of apps simply disappeared. There are empty spots on various pages where apps used to be. Worse, I don't even know exactly what those apps are cuz I have so many installed on my Note 10+ phone. I just know there are empty spaces on my various screens where apps used to be. I don't think I've ever experienced this before in over a decade of using Android phones. Anyone else experienced this?

I've had that happen before, when they get updated. I'm not sure why it happen but good idea to take screen shots of your home page

When my apps on my homescreen update they go back to my app screen. The only good thing is I keep my apps on my app screen in folders. So once it updates it doesn't go back in the folder .There are just loose apps under my folders.

It must be an Android 10 thing because I don't recall this happening on Pie.

For lack of a better explanation, I would say when an app gets an update that changes the way a launcher identifies it, then it usually disappears from the homescreen.

It would be nice if launchers replaced MIA apps with a generic (but labelled) placeholder to let us know we need to manually re-add an app to the homescreen.

It usually occurs when certain apps are updated. You don't arrange your apps alphabetically ?

Agreed.

It's not every update with every app. But I have seen it happen on occasion. Usually if there is a change in the icon design, but could also be if there is a change in its coding in the app. Then, the homescreen loses how to link to it.
