Some of the files are not showing up on PC

Hello. Today I've noticed that in various folders (Camera, Pictures, etc) I can see more pictures on the phone (S7) than on the PC.
I can access most of the files, transfer phone to PC and vice versa, etc, but I cannot see some of the pictures that are on my phone when browsing from PC.
*no empty folders, but, for example, in "Pictures" there are 73 pictures when viewing from Phone and 58 when browsing from PC
* tried restarting both devices
* Tried both "Transferring media files (MTP connection)" and "Transferring images" (PTP + MTP)
* USB debugging on
*no SD card in phone
*I do have disabled apps (SVoice, Instagram, some Google ones, but nothing that could cause the trouble)
*never messed with system files or anything like that

Phone is SM-G930F, Android 7.0. PC is Win10.
Any and all help much appreciated.

It is quite common as I see it. I don't know the theory, but you may copy the files to another folder (create a new folder) on your phone and try it on PC again.

@Thacy thanks for your answer. I did move the files that don't show up into a different folder and when trying to access it from my PC it shows up as empty. Though it's not the case in ALL of the folders, in some I've noticed I cannot access files created earlier, the dividing line being somewhere around mid-January, 2016. Another thing that I haven't mentioned - I've bought the phone with Android6 and upgraded to Android7 when it was available. Could this have caused the issue?

I did find why it happened, though it's still strange behaviour on Android's side. I moved those pictures to my PC earlier (accessed from PC, used Ctrl+X, Ctrl+V, causing them to be invisible when browsing from PC, but still showing up on the phone). Another upsetting thing I've found out - though google drive, when deleting pictures, promises to delete from all synced devices, it does not. So, I have hundreds of Photos, two computers, a phone and google drive. And a massive mess of duplicated/triplicated/... files.
