Something bad happened with my Micro SD card.

I have a class six micro sd it was working fine with my android phone but suddenly it stop writing. when i took out the memory card and connected it with my pc nothing happened it just not detect anything and then i inserted it back into my phone and clicked on format as portable and after that message appeared saying your card is ready but when i removed from my phone and inserted it again in card reader still nothing happened but now when i insert it again in my phone it also doesn't recognize it.

Memory card can go bad, just like hard drives do.

I have basically the same issue. I wanted to change my lock screen photo one day, and went searching in my gallery, and the photos were gone! I checked, and my phone now says to insert an sd card - even when the card is in! I have pulled it out and reseated it several times; no dice. I have used an adapter and put it in my macbook which doesn't seem to recognize it, either. I think there were about 1000 photos on there, and I'd really like to have them - family photos, vacation, etc.

Any ideas why my phone (Galaxy S8) suddenly doesn't recognize the card and my macbook doesn't seem to recognize it? How can I recover my photos? The micro card is Samsung and the adapter for my macbook sd slot is also a samsung (I think it came with the phone).
