It's a sad day...
So I have noticed when I tap the battery cover behind the speaker lightly I hear something that sounds like it's loose. This has been like this for a while but I didn't think anything of it until recently, when I make phone calls the other person sound like they are talking too loud and it's distorted (the volume is not too loud). When I squeeze the battery cover and the screen together I don't have the issue. I believe I will need to call Verizon about this and this is my predicament; I will have to go through the process of reverting the radio and go back to stock 2.1 which is not as bad as my other issue- I really don't want to give up this phone because this is the only issue I have had at this point. I don't want a refurb and I don't want a model with a SLCD. So now for the reason of this post; Has anyone upgraded and had to downgrade for a warranty issue? Also can someone that may know what the problem is and has a fix let me know? If I can resolve this without VZW I would be very happy. I love my phone and don't want to part with it! I would appreciate any help I can get!

could it be the speaker? I remember floor standing speakers I had use to make that noise it the drum was tapped...

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Don't know how- I've never dropped it. Just trying to decide if I should go through the trouble and call Big Red.

yeah send it in for a replacement same thing happen to me then one day the speaker stoped working all together...It will still have the AMOLED screen too HTC said couple weeks ago when the report first came out they are not changing screens for the Droid Inc and Evo they will remain AMOLED. but it is a pain the have to revert everything back but atleast its a easier now that Unrevoked Forvere is out you can flash everything pretty quick...or you could away brick the phone an play dumb with verizon...

Ok so I got the phone back to stock and called VZW and they are sending me a REFURB:( Oh well I guess when it comes to hearing the person on the other end, I can't be too stubborn. It's ok it just gives me a chance to have the fun of doing it all over again. I can't wait to try SR2.5

I hang out in the IRC a lot ##incredibleroms, and I hear of a decent amount of people having problems with the speaker on their Dinc. So it's def. not just your phone. As far as getting a refurb without an AMOLED screen. I am not too sure if I would believe what the other person said. I know people who have got their replacements already without an AMOLED screen (at least this is what they tell me). I would absolutely send it back tho, this is an issue with hardware and not anything a simple radio or ROM can fix :(. I actually know someone who has had to bring back their Dinc. 3 times already due to speaker issues.

Yeah, I will definetly be going through a full blown inspection to be sure it is to my liking before sending the original back. I wish there was a way to test the call quality without activation-reactivation. I will find out soon......
