I do agree that Windows 8 works great on a tablet. Unfortunately, the Surface Pro and all its iterations so far, have not been good tablets. They're either too heavy (near 2lbs) or too unwieldy at 12 inches.
The smaller 8 inch Windows 8 tablets are the best form factor I think. But sadly they're stuck with low-powered Atom chips. Dell should release a new Venue 8 Pro with the Core M chip. I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro and I was happy with it for a while, but now it just feels too slow. I'm selling it and going back to the Nexus 7 2013 actually.
