Sometimes I can't type anything else than the first letter when writing a message..why?

Sometimes I can't type anything else than the first letter when writing a message...

... so, yeah. Can anybody help, please?

I want to send a text message to my friend and I can only write the M of the entire word morning. To make the keyboard work again I need to reboot the phone. But it's kinda getting annoying.

Does that keyboard issue happen with typing in any other app, or just in the Messaging app?

I just had this happen, and finally decided to do a factory reset, as I had updated to Lollipop. I had been avoiding it because of the annoyance of the whole thing. Well, even though I still lost some contacts and texts, it was worth it. It not only fixed that problem, but my battery life has increased dramatically, and the phone is no longer overheating.

I'm a bit tired of the factory resetp Good for you if it worked. But I have had to do too many of those and I am looking for another solution.
