The Xperia series technically exists as a showcase of Sony's phone division. However, despite some features like SD card and 3.5 mm jack at that price point; they rarely sell well. Sony didn't help it's case by pricing them exorbitantly and doing poorly in terms of OS upgrades [though they have improved on that margin].
However, sometimes I can't help but think that Sony isn't interested much in it's phone line-up. A recent Xperia release didn't make it to US (and neither to my native country India). Juxtapose this with their photography division or wireless buds which are quite popular and sold around the world. Will Sony eventually stop making phones and Xperia [as a brand] go the same way as the HTC?
