Sony Xperia Ion problems in downloading some apps

[Android Central Question]

I have a sony xperia ion running android version 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich)... the problem is that it wont download some apps from the playstore like facebook messenger, mx player, Imo free calls, and some other apps too.. it wont even like open the app's "page" when i select it in the search menu of the playstore..it just shows the error , "no internet connection. Make sure Wifi or cellular data is turned on, then try again" . this problem only persists with the apps i mentioned above, i can easily open any other app's page on the playstore.. i did a hard reset and still the problem persists. i download the apk file of messenger from tthe browser, but it wont install it saying there was a problem parsing the package..
