Sony Xperia Z1 - Unable to set up hotmail

I am unable to set up Hotmail account received unable to connect message so I tried updating password that didn't work so I deleted account and started over that fixed the problem for half an hour unable to connect message is back when I tried to delete and re add account wont let me says username or password incorrect anyone know if there is a problem with Hotmail? I'm still able to access account on my computer or mobile browser.

i had this same problem on my htc one, all i did was have all my hotmail redirected to my gmail app

Download the Outlook app from the play store and enter your hotmail account details, works fine
