Sony Xperia Z3 Post Your Camera Pictures Here!

I believe that photo was shot in superior mode. However, I have shot in manual and wasn't particularly blown away. I'm planning on some more tinkering over the weekend.

BTW, what resolution do you shoot in?

Also, what camera changes will Lollipop bring to the Z3 please? I suppose I should have researched these things before upgrading :)

No problem. I usually just shoot in 8mp in manual. I set the metering mode to either spot or multi and I play around with the ISO depending on the scene. The superior auto isn't bad but Sony does not always bring the best out of their shots cause of their algorithms. Android is opening up their camera APIs in the new update which will finally allow developers to access manual focus and shutter speed control (not sure what the max will be yet). I hope it's more than half a second which I believe is the current maximum shutter speed for Android. Also you're probably used to the excellent photography community that came with owning a Nokia phone. I have not really found anything close to that in the Android space as of yet. There are some tradeoffs but I really love the app ecosystem and flexibility (have you played games with a Playstation controller on your Z3 yet?)of Android so far. Waiting to see what Windows 10 will look like and if Microsoft will bring a high end phone to T-Mobile before I can even consider going back. Android is pretty cool.

Oh and let me not forget the ability to shoot in RAW which could prove to be a lot better than having the work done for you. That's a huge plus.

I'm struggling a bit with the keypad on the Z3. Never made so many typos and auto-correct doesn't seem to be very good. Word prediction is a bit poor too.

Currently trying SwiftKey. Doesn't seem much better so far.

You sound a little homesick to me. Maybe Android just isn't for you.

Maybe a little homesick but I'm going to stick it out. Absolutely love the phone itself and it's great to have access to many apps that I would be dreaming of on WP. It's just a case of getting used to things on Android.

Some recent pics I took. All edited but still good even without the editing. Enjoying the Z3 so far.

Cute pic of the child. How is the autofocus in low (inside) light? I've been struggling going taking pics of my 2 years old with my g2, the autofocus is too slow... Much better on my father's iPhone 6, but I like android more, so thinking of the z3. Thanks

Thanks. The auto focus is pretty good in most situations except for really dark scenes. But low inside light the auto focus still does pretty good. I doubt it's as fast as Apple's technology but you shouldn't miss any moments either.

Playing around in manual with 200 ISO and some close up shots of my son's toy truck. Unedited. I like the depth of field with the foreground out of focus in the last two shots. The camera tends to use a slow or delayed shutter speed sometimes so some of my test shots came out blurry.

So I took my Z3 on it's first vacation with me. I'm one for abusing a camera when I'm out. :P

Here's some shots of Barcelona Spain and surrounds. I've only shrunk the size down to upload them. Nothing else has been done.

This phone has decent pictures quality. But downside is the focus as most review pointed out. When I'm shooting video using stock camera, the focus consistently blur the picture especially when my child run away from video centre. When taking pictures, the focus starts when it captures an object face too. That makes me have to shoot multiple to ensure picture is not good.

But I got a decent pictures too

They said we should expect 4-10" tonight. I used night mode for the first two. The last one was taken in manual mode with the full 20mp resolution and I left the flash on to see what affects it might have. Pretty cool shot.

Like the close-up pics of the snow on the deck.......very nice!
Thanks. I can't wait for the Camera2 API update so we can have access to manual control. The "Manual Camera" app in the store looks to be a promising one for us.

My little guy on the drums.😎 Edited in the native photos app. Some more pics from the snow storm. The last one was way overexposed but I liked it anyway.I took the highlights down a little bit in Photoshop Express. uploadfromtaptalk1424663855797.jpguploadfromtaptalk1424663879115.jpguploadfromtaptalk1424663922859.jpguploadfromtaptalk1424663935445.jpg
