Got my Z3 last night. Amazing device. Took the AT&T rep about 30 minutes to get the new sim working with AT&T network, when I left the store I had LTE connection. I have terrible service at my house (edge/emergency only) - same thing happened with my GS3 before. Now the problem is it seems to be stuck on Edge. Either stuck on Edge or is no longer picking up LTE. Tried power cycling and cycling in and out of airplane mode. Still stuck! If I can't resolve it I'll be back to AT&T for a new sim, or switching to T-Mobile. Any advice?

In other news, the battery life on this thing is truly excellent. After heavy, heavy use throughout the day, I'm rocking 42% left here at 10 pm.

Re: Problems on AT&T

Does it happen when you're not at home? Since you said the same thing happened with you GS3, you may not have good coverage where your house is located.

The same thing happened to me. Went to at&t store to get the nano sim. The rep puts in my IMEI number and i get LTE. A few hours later no data only voice. I went back to the store and the rep said international unlocked phones are not guaranteed to work on at&t. I called BS on it and asked him to put an IMEI number of a known LTE phone which At&t carries like the S5 and after a reboot all is working fine. Havent had that issue again since last week.

Wow, that's good to know. I'll try the same thing today on my lunch break. Thanks.

Shouldn't really need to. It should work since I got mine working as soon as the IMEI was registered and the new nano SIM went in.

Also, did you also do this to your phones?

Re: Problems on AT&T

Did all that. Configured a new APN and used the settings from one of the galaxy s5's in the store. Everything worked properly for few hours and then lost data

Re: Problems on AT&T

You mean the settings used from the S5 worked for a few hours and lost data?

I would just invoke the internet and MMS settings in the on the Xperia. That should do the trick.

If still not, you may need to get the tech 2(s) involved.

Re: Problems on AT&T

All I had to do was re-select LTE as preferred network in Mobile Network Settings -> Network Mode. Haven't had any issues since.

Re: Problems on AT&T

which model for AT&T D6603 or D6633?
Thanks

This depends on what you want as both phones work fine.

D6603 is the most versatile in terms of frequency support. If you want Dual SIM, then D6633. The only difference between the two models is that D6633 doesn't have LTE 13 (which no major carriers in the world use it) which isn't a problem. Both retail for the same price.

Re: Problems on AT&T

The D6603 seems to have a different firmware though. Does not show LTE but appears to be using the network. I believe if we find the right firmware that should be an easy fix but I haven't had enough time to play with it yet.

It's applicable to all Sony phones. Depending on which market the phone is from, in terms of Sony; it is flashed with a the country region's firmware which will have different customization configurations. The network icons, such as the 4G and LTE is one of those.

For instance, a phone with US firmware would have the LTE icon / status is used to indicate LTE while for UK, they use 4G icon / status to indicate LTE.

Flashing the firmware isn't an issue since there is the XperiFirm and the Flashtool which can be used to easily change the phone to the firmware you want.

I personally done it to mine, where I switched my D6633's furnware from MENA Arabic to Hong Kong.

Yes make sure the APN settings are correct, but also make sure that the preferred network setting is LTE

You are the best. My problem: I bought a Xperia Z3 D6603 through Ebay. Phone works perfect, but I was never able to get LTE working. I spoke to t-mobile, to sony US and to Sony Ireland (because the phone was apparently for the irish market). Nobody could help until I saw your post with XPERIFLASH. Follow these instructions: http://www.xperiablog.net/2016/03/12/install-xperia-marshmallow-using-flashtool-and-xperifirm-guide/ and it worked. It is a little bit tricky, but the instructions are good. I now have the US settings and LTE works. THANK YOU
