Sony Xperia Z3 vs LG G3

Hey guys!

So I get that these threads grow tiresome... But I'm between a rock and a hard place right now. My Nexus 5 is on its way out and I am planning on getting a new device next week; but I have been in a constant tete-a-tete with the two devices in the title. I've watched unboxings, reviews, and have also read customer reviews for these devices... And to be honest, they both sound pretty good. I watch a lot of Netflix on my phone, so the LG G3 would have merit; but bigger doesn't necessarily mean better for me, and the Z3 would be great for the display, sound, etc. I can see myself using both, and liking both. I am still leaning towards the Z3, but I am unsure. (The G4 is something I've looked at, but I am not interested in it as of now.)

Does anyone have any thoughts/experiences about/with these devices, and can give me some food for thought? Thanks so much!

I was in your exact situation a few months back (Nexus 5 was damaged) and decided on going with the LG G3 as a replacement. I can't speak for the Z3; however, if you go with the G3 you shouldn't be disappointed.

I've had both devices. Had the G3 for a little over a year and it's a great phone, the camera was very good, I liked LG's UI (not everyone does but I liked it), I never had any major lag issues and it was a before and after for me regarding on screen buttons, after the G3 I couldn't go back to capacitive buttons lol. Battery life was just eh, I usually got about 2.5-3.5 hours SOT which is not much but it lasted me through the day.

After the G3 I moved to the S6 and that's the best Samsung phone I've had, but the battery life was just... So so bad. I've seen people say they get great battery life with the s6 but that was just not my case. I became paranoid about having o to leave the house and the phone not being completely charged. So after a lot of research I decided to get the Z3.

And I have to say (other than the camera which could be better), this is the best phone I've had. Had it for about 2 and a half months now. It's snappy, zero lag, no overheating issues, great to play games, the screen is gorgeous, I compared it side to side to the G3 and on the G3 the whites look yellowish. And indoors I usually keep it about 30%, that's more than enough. I do need to take it up to about 70% when I go out.

The phone itself is a little slippery so I would recommend a case. The camera is not bad, but it's not great. In low light conditions it does struggle a bit. But outdoors with bright light it can take great pictures. For my needs, it's good enough.

And the best thing about this phone... The battery. It's a beast! I can EASILY get 8 hours SOT over 2 day use. I still charge it everyday because I'm just used to that but I know I can leave my house and not have to worry at all about my phone running out of battery.

So overall, in my opinion they're both great phones. If camera is more important to you, I'd go with the G3 (it's a pretty good camera but not the best out there of course) and if you prefer battery life and a snappier phone, then I would go with the Z3.

I have owned both of these phones and I still have the Z3, the LG was nice but as most people say in their reviews the screen brightness isn't great and they are right the screen brightness on the Z3 is amazing, also the battery life on the LG is in my opinion just awful and that was the main reason for me selling it whereas the Z3 battery life is very very good so for me the Z3 wins out easily.

I've had three smartphones of LG and I enjoyed them all three... I don't know the G3, but I surely can recommend you LG as producer.
