Sony's new Z5

That's not light usage either. WiFi on, 4G on, GPS on and screen brightness at 50% with adaptive enabled, which really likes to set max brightness when you're out and about in broad daylight. Heavy web browsing using Chrome over both WiFi and 4G, YouTube streaming, voice calling for over an hour, stuff like that. Basically, this phone is a battery beast.

I am so tempted to get this phone right now but waiting on the reviews of the xperia family.

Fits my priority of having a big phablet and great battery life.

My main focus in a device is battery and camera. So far this tics the battery box. Hopefully they can finally deliver on the camera. I currently have the note 5, which has an amazing camera, but battery life if horrible!

That's mine too. Battery and camera.

The thing is I also crave though is an Amoled screen, so right now, there's only the Galaxy Note 4 that's perfect for me, except the size. It's too big for me.

The GS6 would have been my perfect choice, but the battery is very poor. Then obviously these new Sony phones, but the screens are LCD. Boo. Lol.

Out of all these devices available these days, why I can't I find a perfect phone?

Any confirmation on OIS , Quick Charge , NFC , IR Blaster?
dreaming of electric sheep
Have been using mine for 2 days now.
OIS - No
QC - Yes, but Sony doesn't include a quick charger, you'll need to buy it separately UCH10
NFC - Yes
IR - No

O_o Please tell me the $1000 price tag is for the premium version, not the regular z5 or compact.
Based on the pricing in several countries, if it is launched in US, it should be around $700

The 2 day battery life was never actually accurate on any Xperia that made that claim. By 2 days what you actually got was more like not having to charge it until sometime the next morning or afternoon as opposed to nighttime the same day
I think the 2 day battery life is with Sony's STAMINA mode on, which isn't ideal for lot of people, but for some it will tremendously help.
