"Sorry, can't play this video."

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum. I just recently bought the HTC One M8. For the most part, I'm quite pleased with it but I'm having problems playing videos in Google Chrome and the default browser. I get the display message "sorry, this video cannot be played." And more recently, it just doesn't load if I try and scan through the video.

Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Welcome to Android Central! From which sites are you trying to play video? If they're Flash videos, you can't use the browser, since Android doesn't have Flash support. If they're HTML5 videos, it will work in the browser.

Your best bet may be to look for an app for that site, or find the video on YouTube.

I had this problem a few days ago, the issue carried over into YouTube as well. A simple phone reboot fixed it and it hasn't occured again since. If you haven't done so already, try that.
