Sound Issue

Does anyone know how to resolve the issue when you plug in anything to the headphone port that the sounds lowers for hearing saftey?

It's not so much an issue as a feature. Two ways to ditch it that I know of, a different phone or a ROM.

I'm enjoying Cyanogenmod.
