Sound Quality question...

I returned my iPhone 4S yesterday and thinking about heading to Target tomorrow for the SGS II. However as much as I liked my Nexus S, i didn't like that I had to put the phone face down in order to hear the text alert. How is the volume on the SGS II? If it is face up can you hear it pretty well?

...Although the sound is nowhere near as good as the iPhone sound via the external speaker...
The rear firing speakers on most phones is not conducive to watching flicks, IMO... Headphones are great though!

I disagree.

I've had every model iPhone, and although they had a great external speaker, the GS2 is so much better and much louder. Actually my Motorola Atrix has a much louder speaker than the iPhone.

My wife still uses an iPhone 4, and side by side there is a big difference. The GS2 definately wins.
