Sound Search for Google Play widget crashes every time

I can't get the Sound Search for Google Play widget to work on this phone. I can install the widget to a home screen, and I can tap the clock icon to see my search history. But as soon as I tap "What's this song" it starts to listen, but never finishes. It crashes in the middle of listening. Every time. It happens in the LG launcher and in Nova Launcher. Uninstalling and reinstalling changes nothing. Restarting the phone does nothing. Anybody else experiencing this?

I noticed the same thing.

Good news is that it isn't really crashing.

If you remove the widget, and then add it again, you can then click the history button on the right and you'll see that it indeed did listen to what you asked it to before when it crashed, so it KIND of works.

But I agree, it's pretty messed up right now as it is.

I never used it before, but just tried it and works fine.

Can't lie..... This thread made me realise i had the google music finder lmfao. I usually use soundhound and i did with both my s8 and now g6 and always did without even thinking about it..... Still gonna use it though. Last time i tried that app it didn't find anything after like 5 tries where'as soundhound found it in 3 seconds lolz.

I'll have to give Soundhound a shot.

Another thing that bummed me out is that I remember google Now used to be able to do it but when Google pushed out Assistant and took Google Now away from us it doesn't do it anymore.

Really silly imo.

I have the T-Mobile variant and it works fine for me.
