Sound Still Through Speakers with Headphones In

it seems like the G3 has a very sensitive headphone jack. I get the snaps and crackles between tracks, the eletronic noise at times... and I've had problems with some headphones and aux cables. Other headphones work perfectly.

Ive noticed the cables that give me problems also don't work the greatest on my other devices (but they do work). I suspect that something is not grounded on the G3, or perhaps the jack is really sensitive.

Hopefully, this is something that can fixed via software patch.

Discovered that the headphones make two clicks when inserted. You think the connector is all the way in but it isn't. You have to force it. You also have to rip it out when you are done.

I am fairly certain that I could swing the phone around by the headphone cable and it wouldn't disconnect.

I've never had a headphone jack this tight before. I guess it's a good thing.

What you're describing is a defective G3 unless you have multiple bad headsets/cables. I'm not an audiophile but frequently play FLAC files and am very sensitive to artifacts - glitches, pops, static etc. My G3 doesn't have that, and if it was "normal" I would have returned it for a different phone. There is anecdotal evidence that some manufacturing runs or even models of the G3 have the sound issues that you describe. Don't settle for a malfunctioning device.

I have a bunch of headphones - some higher end $300+ and also a half dozen in ear monitors, which range from inexpensive Xiamomi Pistons to audiophile quality. Some have removable cables, and I have extras of those. None of these cause pops or glitches.

I have an LG Machthat had the same problem. Apparently, LG didn't build in the appropriate software to route the Bluetooth signal from the phone out-of-the-box. To remedy this, all is not lost. There are a number of decent apps on the Play Storethat might work. I use Sound About. There are many settings that allow routing from your phone to a variety of output devices, both wired and wireless. Your music player might have similar options. When searching for an app, type "Bluetooth through headset."
