Apparently, the phone came pre-loaded with SoundHound. For some odd reason, it is accessible only though the Google search bar. It is not on the app tray. How do I add it to one of my home screens?

I downloaded SoundHound from the store on my previous devices, so it synced right over.

The sound hound that came with it is integrated into the system

That can't be bad, soundhound strait rocks. Haven't wanted a phone since the Nexus, like I want a HTC one. Very nice device indeed.

Did notice right away been trying everything on this phone as well the company advised me that it's an HTC issue with the its setup...

So has anyone figured out a way to use this app other than going into Google Play and launching it from there? It is not listed in the applications folder.

Im having the problem, because I have the paid version, I uninstalled the unpaid version and and its still showing up in "My apps" for an update.

Sure...long press on a home screen to get to the add widgets/apps/shortcuts interface. Then select shortcuts. The shortcut you need to add is called "ID Now" and has the SoundHound Icon.

When launched, it immediately starts SoundHound in "Listening" mode. If you just want to get into the app, press the back arrow once to cancel listening mode.

Great app and a good (but obscure) way to get to it.

No problem...glad it worked for you. HTC left a few other "Easter Eggs" on the One X that I have found...

Do a google search for "mirror" and the old "HTC Mirror" app that turns on the front facing camera so you can use it as a mirror shows up. I haven't been able to find any other way to get to it other than the search method though.

Maybe AT&T did something to yours?

Soundhound and Mirror show up in my app drawer. I've got the international version of the 1X.

Also, another way I can launch Soundhound is throught the default music player. When I launch the music player, I'm presented with a list of recently played tracks and 3 icons above this list. "my phone", "tunein radio" and "soundhound". Clicking soundhound will open the app.

I am certain AT&T did a lot of "somethings" to my One X as compared.to your international unlocked version. Every time I start getting irritated about it, I run a network speed test in LTE. 38 MBS down and 20 MBS up makes those "somethings" seem pretty insignificant...especially when put together with this display and consistently getting 20 hours of battery life.
