sp flash tool.exe not loading in Win 10

First time here.
I am trying to load sp flash tool to up date my phone.
Downloaded sp_flash_tool_v5. 1512 win zip.
Unpack zip file, open folder, files appear, when I double click file sp flash tool.exe it opened correct. I then had to switch to Administrator, going back to normal screen, double clicking sp_flash_tools_ v5. 1512, the file icon has changed. Instead of a green android, it shows a page like a word doc. and does not load. I have change to multiple v, numbers, always the same outcome, it shows a page like a word doc. After trying my small laptop (which does the same) went back to my laptop. With file sp_flash_tool_v5. 1512, it loads for about 2 sec's then shuts down. any ideas?

Huh? You right-click the program in the start menu and 'Run as administrator'. You don't switch you to administrator. (If you installed the program in a non-administrative account, for use by the user only, it won't even be installed in another account.)

Try the latest version 1924. You can download from splash tool website

Copy the file sp flash tool and transfer the file to c/program86
And click run as administrator
