The space warning for the hard drive keeps coming up. I have cleared all the items I can by uninstalling and connected to computer and deleting. I have noticed that the gallery pictures are still there. How can I delete these. I cannot find them when searching in the drives? What can I do to make this phone function again. I cannot send any text because of space.

Try clearing them from the phone

They're located in /sdcard/DCIM/camera/, case you didn't know.

@flapjack.fiasco: That folder is empty thats why I do not understand why the galley and albums still show up.

Okay. I just realized those are sync with Picassa. So I go online to delete them form Picassa and do not see an option to delete.

I just deleted them from Picassa. Now the space warning is still on the phone and the gallery and albums are still there too.

Yes. I uninstalled the google maps updates and it got rid of the warning but it still doe not solve the mystery as to the instance of the gallery.

That notification is referring to the internal memory of the phone. You can get rid if it by deleting text messages, clearing browser cache and history, and by moving apps to the SD Card in application settings.

check out the "market insufficient space fix" thread by jerry in the rooting/roms/hacks forum... this is just in addition to what everyone else has already said... :-)

Clearing the SDcard will not fix the problem.

The phones internal memory is full.
Either:
Move some apps to the SDcard
Remove some apps
Clear out some text conversatiions
Clear out some mms conversations
