Android Central Question

How can I clear part of the spam from my spam filter which is limited to 200, on the default email app on my samsung galaxy note 3? The answer I saw on here doesn't work. Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about the Spam folder? I doubt that it would fill up and no longer be able to add more spam -- it's probably that the amount it displays is limited to 200. Check the folder again in a day or two -- are there new spam items added to it?

Or go to the web interface for your email account - they usually handle all the emails in any folder, so you can delete them there. (And that deletes them from the server - deleting them in your email app only deletes then in the app - they're still on the server.)

(If it's a gmail account, go to GMail.)

Thanks for your answers but no help. I should have given more details. I have deleted all emails that went to my spam folder but that's not the issue. On my phone, when I long click on an email it gives me the option to add the sender, or the domain, to spam so it goes straight to the spam folder and I don't have to deal with it. (Just for more info, I always choose domain option). Now when I long click and I click the option to send it to spam, it says I have reached the 200 limit. I have had this happen before, a year or so ago, and easily found the way to clear the spam filter, not the spam folder. I just deleted all 200 domains and started over. Many of those domains I never received emails from again. Now, there are no menu options in settings that allow me to clear the spam filter. I hope this has clarified my situation. Thanks again!

Depending on the email app, spam filters are often found in the account settings or account options.

Using any information in the "from" field (username or just domain) is pointless as a spam filter. The names are always randomly chosen by the spammer.

I have tried to do a screen shot but it doesn't really tell you anything, just shows menu option to either choose the specific sender in the domain or block the entire domain, which I usually do. There is just no way to clear the listings in the spam filter anymore it seems. : -( .
