Spam Call blocking strategy

I get about 2 or 3 spam calls a day. I am using the built in spam call detection feature but am thinking I want something more robust.

Can anyone here recommend a 3rd party app for blocking spam calls that might be better?

really nothing you can do, especially if they are caller id spoofing. my strategy is to never answer the phone unless I know who is calling

I have been using YouMail for a long time. I use it mainly as a voicemail replacement but it also has good SPAM blocking functionality. I pay for it but it's possible they have a version without the voicemail and just SPAM blocking. I am not sure. I am using it in combination with Google's automatic call screen and the SPAM calls have dropped off dramatically. I even go a day or more without one!

I don't answer calls I don't recognize and unless they leave a message, I block the numbers. I do use the built in SPAM feature and now average no more than 2 SPAM calls a week.

I also use Youmail and it's the best call blocker I have ever used.

What other call blocker will play a "This number has been disconnected" message to calls you don't want.
