Spam calls?

They sure do. You will be arrested for fraud if you don't call this number blah blah blah and another one tries to sell some kind of med alert system. Both leave spam voicemail.

Most of my spam uses my own area code so that's not an option.

I refer these to my friend Gophi. Perhaps you know him, Gophuc Yuseff? 😁

Yeah I think so, 1+ the 3 area code numbers. Right now, a better option I recommend downloading 'Mr Number' it's free on the Play Store. Right now it seems to be working.. it already has an updated database of spam numbers, you can choose to warn you of spam calls OR block them automatically. The database is submitted by a community of people.. you can also add your own number to block.

I haven't gotten any spam calls ever since I actually spoke to someone over the phone.. I accepted the call and chose to speak to someone.. it was a lady trying to pretend to be a health insurance agent.. I was pressing her with questions and she quickly hung up.. I guess they finally knew I was on to them so probably they took me out of their system.. I also downloaded 'Call recorder' so next time if there's a spammer, I can have the phone conversation saved and possibly can identify who the person is by their voice and send it to police.

I received a spam call by one of the area codes I added to the digit filter. I went back and added the +1 to each area code. Going to let it ride for a few weeks before adding the Mr Number app. I dont want,to see its spam I dont want the calls to even get thru and ring.

I use the do not disturb option on the phone and only accept calls and texts when the caller is one of my contacts.

I have literally gotten called from my own number. That was when I realized even blocking is not only a waste of time, but could block people that may actually want/need to call me at some point. Best conclusion I have had so far is to simply refuse to pick up any phone number not saved. If I don't know you, and you don't leave a voice mail, guess its not important. That is why I hesitate to use Mr. Number as well. With the spoofing, you might block them, an un-used number, or just a random persons number. About a week ago, I had a voice mail from a rather angry sounding lady telling me to leave a voice mail as I had supposedly called her 3 times that afternoon. Funny, as I had been at work that whole day and hadn't touched my phone for a call.

Update on using the Digit Filter. Its been well over 6 weeks since I have been using and adding new area codes to the digit filter as new spam calls come in, they are few and far apart and appear to block spam calls from the area codes I added. There have been none from the list that have come thru. Its takes a while to ser up initially but you need to be diligent when a new area code comes thru. You should google the area code to see where it is used to be sure you do not know someone from that area and they get blocked. Now all we need it the phone company to block spoofed numbers from your personal area code.
