Spare HTC Thunderbolt Battery Question

OK I know that many of you will think that this is a stupid question but I have to ask. I ordered what I thought was an extra OEM HTC Thunderbolt battery but when I got it, it was a battery for the HTC My Touch 4G. Yes it has the same 3.7VDC Rating and is 1400mAh but in order to line up the contacts it must be put in upside down. When it comes to stuff like this I know nothing. Is it safe to use this battery in my phone?

Amazon has one vendor that lists the same battery for both the My Touch and TB. I would check the HTC website and see if you get the same part number for batteries for both phones, just to be on the safe side. It wouldn't matter if the label was upside down, as long as the same voltage is on the same contacts.

Don't do it. Problem with "upside down" is that you are probably reversing the + and - battery poles. Bad Karma! :)

Yes it's safe, I got one and it works just fine. The specifications for the Thunderbolt, Merge, and My Touch 4G are the same.

did you get a desk charger for the battery?

Yes I did get a desk charger with the spare battery. I sent HTC Customer Service an e-mail regarding the issue and I am waiting to hear to back from them.
