SPB Shell 3D Launcher

IM a newbie to android so i know theres a lot to learn so im really thankful to you guys that take the time to answer people questions. So i have a few myself first i came from an iphone so i assume that "rooted" is like "jailbroken" and if so how can you get gingerblur on the atrix is that a hacked version of gingerbread? can anyone put a screenshot to see how it looks pls?

I want to know if anyone has tried this on a TBolt? Their descriptions reads "HTC Thunderbolt users: there is a chance of black screen on app launch. If you still decide to give it a shot, please contact support in case of any problems."

It happened with my Atrix too. It only last for the first 10 seconds and then never happens again.

Email the dev. I was pissed at google putting restrictions on ASOP, but with this, I understand it may be the only way they survive.

I've been using SPB shell since version 2 for winmo 6.5 and earlier, and paid $30 bucks, and a discount with every upgrade. I will be buying my Atrix very soon and the first app I'll buy is SPB Shell 3D.

After looking it over I noticed that the weather and clock widgets used to be separate apps that I have also bought for my phones in the past, back in the days before app stores or even iphones. Now they are integrated into the new shell along with a very well put together contacts widget among other great stuff. It's like getting multiple items in one package. I'm gonna see if a life long (spb life that is) customer might get a break. Doubtful, but worth a shot.

Hopefully they'll be adding SPB wallet to Android soon, another must-have app.

Well, now I'm talking about a time when the App store was still just random synapses firing in the mind of Jobs. Winmo 5 and 6 and 6.5 were primitive OS's and SPB came along and offered something that even back then was miles ahead of any other launchers anywhere. They could be installed right on top of winmo and ate up very little in the way of phone resources.
Us older foggies didn't have the luxury of 10,000 free and $ 0.99 apps that played random flatulence sounds. If you wanted to "upgrade" your OS you had to buy something like SPB Shell. Let me tell you, these "apps" were expensive! I've spent hundreds of dollars over the years, you younger guys got it good!
I'm actually delighted to see only a $14.99 price tag. I have researched Launcher Pro and a host of others that are half that price, and lower, even free They are all fine products, with great customizability and very similar UI's to earlier versions of SPB Shell.
I, however am brand loyal to a company that was blazing the trail and making my cell phone/pda experience smoother and more palatable, so I will support.

It's nice to know there are a few of us old timers still around. Long gone are the days of Handago or PocketGear well like they were.

Same thing happened on my Droid X. Black screen didn't go away until a reboot. Now this launcher takes a while to load initially. When I reboot it takes about a minute to load and then another minute before it is fully usable as other background tasks load. I imagine the TB may be similar as they are roughly similar processors (don't flame me on that one lol). Once it is all loaded up the first time, it runs smooth and fast.

Haha the good ol' days of hacking up WinMo 5 phones just to make them actually useful. And apps were expensive. There was no centralized place to buy from, often times no refund policy at all and just plain difficult.

Yay Android!

Im actually really suprised by this shell. Never herd of something like this before. It really makes the phone almost seem completely different. I dont mind the launchers though. I have ADW EX and Launcher Pro the paid versions and there great. But this Shell has really good potential. I have a feeling for the price that it will be updated as time goes on. If not, its actually a really good Shell. Makes the phone seem almost completely different in a way.

For the people having issues with it showing just a black screen, download Home switcher for Froyo. That will let you choose that actual launcher. Or you can just hit the home button (as it says) when you download it.

I am really interested in trying this out, maybe folks who are using this app can answer these questions:
1. Is this application eligible for refund, in case I don't like it?
2. Is there a trial version for this that I can try for couple hours/days?
3. Are the graphics optimized for dual core or is there a THD version (like fruit ninja) for dual core phones?
4. Any repercussion on battery usage?

Yes, Moore's Law is still alive for the software world these days. DR. Gordon Moore would be proud.

This is the SPB Forum for Mobile Shell. We may have to spend some time on that forum as well to give the Russian developers our input. I have found the guys and gals in Saint Petersburg to be fairly responsive and helpful when they can be, and just about all the time, polite.

I just hope they can get fixes and updates out at a pace the Android market place has established. We will see.

1.the app is eligible for a refund within 15 minutes of purchasing it
2.their are no trial versions
3.the graphics are good on this no matter if they are optimized or not
4.the battery life is still great except when you initially start it up and set it up but with the OTA update battery gets even better
