Speedtests showing very slow results erroneously...

I am running Ookla Speedtest on both my Android 9.0 tv Box and my iMac. Both are running Nord VPN and Norton Antivirus when I run the Speedtest. Both are on wifi. The Mac gets consistent results of 110 mb/sec. The Android Box gets 10 mb/sec. I close background apps, un-install and re-install, turn off the VPN etc on the Android Box and it still says 10 mb/sec.....

Anyone have similar experiences or thoughts on WHAT is going on?
On the Android Box I easily stream un-buffered 4k content and my wifi analyzer says I could run 8k....

Thanks in advance :)

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Android Apps forum to the General Help forum since the former is intended for developers to promote their apps.

It may have to do with the server the box is accessing, or possibly the DNS gateway. Try changing the DNS: The Ultimate Guide to Changing Your DNS Server

It's probably more to do with the box just not having very fast WiFi. DNS time doesn't count with Ookla (they start with the actual file download, which is why the speed peaks at first), and they're probably both connecting to the same server if they're both connecting through the same router.

If you're looking to download something huge (that will still fit in the box), download it to the Mac, then transfer it to the box by cable. (Or SD card, if the box can take a card.)

It has an SD slot so I will grab some more space definitely thanks. I was also having these exact issues with the Android box connected via ethernet to the router.....it is STRANGE

...wondering if it's the box itself it is the Bqeel U1 Pro Android Box...maybe IT has issues...thinking of just resetting and starting over...just do not know....but will get the SD card and attempt to change the DNS

lol FINALLY- when I have the ethernet cable plugged it and the internet is hardwired, it will automatically switch to wifi and disconnect the hardline...frankly the native ability to adjust settings on the box for Android are blunt tools...
