Hi does anyone know how or if there is spellcheck using the android keyboard? When im in facebook, messages or email and I have a typo it doesnt give suggestions like my incredible does. Any ideas please?

You sure you're keyboard is set to the Android keyboard and not Swype? I'm using the Android keyboard and it has correction and suggests words.

In your settings menu there is a submenu for language and keyboard, and there are settings for auto complete, auto cap, and suggestions

Yes

I am in android keyboard for sure. Looks like I have everything check marked in android keyboard settings-Quick fixes, Show suggestions and Auto-complete, but when Im typing in email, messages, facebook, etc nothing happens if I have a typo.

I have a similar question about the spell checking while typing. How do you set which keyboard you are using? The one on my Fascinate shows the Swype help key in the bottom right corner if in portrait mode.

Just FYI...In the Android keyboard settings I have "Quick fixes", "Show suggestions" and "Auto-complete" checked.

^Nevermind I figured out how to get the Androind keyboard. And go figure I found it in the user guide. I guess I should have read it before I started playing with the phone.

Try pressing on any text input field until a dialog box appears asking you to select your input method. All your frustrations will soon be forgotten.

Also.. there are times where suggestions/correction can't tell you how to spell "Deoxyribonucleic acid", or "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"...

So, your solution is to use the Voice-to-Text functionality.. .. type all other words as normal.. then when you get to the word you don't know how to spell, hit the Microphone, say it.. it'll input the word, then continue typing ...

(idea courtesy of CNET's Molly Wood).. at least I think that's where I heard it.
