Hey Maco, I'm so glad I found this, the blindingly-white always full brightness splash screen was such a pain to me. I flashed the inverted white on black stock screen you posted, worked great no problem...

I wanted to try making a small edit to it, so I took that zip, unzipped the contents, and edited the .bmp in GIMP... Saved it, put it back into the .zip, moved it back onto the phone (via Dropbox), back into the sdcard's root... I verified that zip is correct through opening the .bmp inside it in Astro. When I flash it, it says it's successful, but I still have the original inverted stock screen.

I'm guessing there's something that has to be done with the .img file... so I'm lost. xD What am I doing wrong?

I'd be happy to share it once I can flash it myself! I blacked out the EVO 4G part, centered the htc logo, and put SUPERSONIC in a light blue underneath..

It has everything to do with the .img. Since the original splash screen bmp was converted to the img, that's what will flash...even if you edit the bmp in the zip.

If you want, send me your image and I'll post it in the OP.

I put the repacked pc36img onto mediafire as picture upload services kept compressing it...

I figured it had to do with the .img file, I just don't know what to do, lol. I have no problem if you wanted to put it with your gallery on the first page, I'd be honored actually. xD If mediafire is a problem let me know and I'll share it through Dropbox.

I must be the only one that hates the name EVO... it's the name of a car, not a phone, lol. I like it's original HTC-given name, SUPERSONIC. Plus that's how cyanogenmods refer to it.. and that's what I'm using. Hope people enjoy it!

Yes, this works on clockwork. Is the zip file named PC36IMG? Some of the splash screens I named differently.
