Android Central Question

I am planning to buy a Galaxy watch in the next few days. I have read about the Spotify bugs and am especially concerned with the issue where Spotify plays music after a phone call or anything using voice on the watch.

I do use Spotify frequently on my phone (LG V30) but can live without using it standalone on the watch or even using the watch as a remote to control the app on my phone.

My question is if there is a way to use Spotify on my phone and make sure I don't have to deal with the random music playing after calls and whatnot issues. Is that a possibility or does the issue exist as long as Spotify is installed on the phone?

Much help appreciated. Thanks!

You can still control Spotify with the standard music app on the watch. That won't cause the issues people are talking about

No cause for concern. The issue is related to the watch Spotify app spontaneously playing through the watch speaker. The phone app continues to function as usual without issue. If you would like to make use of the watch app too and are worried about the spontaneous plays from the watch app then simply log out of the watch Spotify app after usage. That is what I am conditioned to do. The only time I use Spotify on my watch is while running (w/o phone) and after each run I log out until it's time for my next run.

Awesome. Picking up the watch today so I might give that a try for running. Thanks!

I've found that if you reconnect to your phone after your run, then open Spotify and skip to the next track, it'll solve the problem. Spotify won't access data through Bluetooth (for some reason I don't understand), so when the speaker gets accessed and it tries to play music, it won't have any cached data.
