Phone had been running just fine and never had this show up in my Quick Panel after using and closing Spotify (and I don't remember using it recently but I guess I did). But now when I restart my phone this Spotify player shows up on my Quick Panel and I can not get rid of it.

You can only long press it and "Remove" it but it's not permanent.

I go to the Spotify app Settings and can not see any option that would put the player in Quick Panel.

And I've gone to Settings > Apps > Spotify > Notifications and turn Notification completely yet every time I reboot it's back.

Anyone else have this issue and can tell me the fix? Thanks :)

I'm not sure what you mean. I use Spotify all the time I don't remember seeing such a thing. Could you post a screenshot?

Oh, I see that, you edited the post to add the screenshot. That's the Playback notification. I don't get that even if I pause Spotify and restart the phone, only if I swipe down one more time and select 'Media output'. I'll take a look and let you know if I find anything.

Once the music isn't playing usually you can just swipe it away.

You can’t swipe away. Just long press and remove. But I can close every app on phone. Spotify wasn’t opened or open in background anyways, reboot the phone and when unlock the phone and restarts… player will be in the drop down with no Spotify open

Does your notification bar pull down further? On mine when I pull the notification bar down again it shows an X on the Spotify notification and I can hit it to stop Spotify and get rid of it.

In settings do a search for media player and look for media player in quick settings or similar. Should be able to choose which apps can do that.

Do you have this setting?

I go to Settings > Apps > Spotify > Notifications and notifications is already showing Blocked and turned off because I disabled it earlier. If you enable Notifications you will seen Notification Categories and in there there is Other options and one is Playback.

But because Notifications is turned off, all sub settings should be off. For giggles, I enabled Notifications just to go in and disable all the other toggles and then disable Notifications entirely again and rebooted my phone. Pull the drop down after I get back to the home screen and the player is still there.

I had uninstalled the Spotify App last night just to rid of the issue and will tell ya, that definitely stops the player from showing in the dropdown after reboot.

But since people were helping (thank you) I thought I'd reinstall the app and play with this more and try to give more detailed info if I can. So, FYI what I've done with screenshots below...

Like I said, uninstall Spotify and restart and no more player in the dropdown so we know it's the Spotify app and not some other player the media console is trying to push on me. As long as I don't open the app and play a song the player doesn't show. But I play a song from my list and exit the app and even close the app and reboot... the player shows up (1st pic).

Interesting note, the first time I long press the media player after a install of the app, it WILL show a Settings option that takes you to Spotify's Notification Setting in Apps and you can toggle off Notifications (2nd pic). After turning off Notifications (3rd pic), you long press and choose to Remove it because it's still there and it's gone. I close all apps in the background again so no Spotify running (4th pic). I reboot the phone and the player shows back up (6th pic).

But interesting note #2, long pressing the player in the dropdown, you no longer get the Settings option for the player(7th pic)... Only Remove and Cancel.

I'll choose Remove (for the 100th time) and it's gone from the dropdown. No Spotify app running in background at all because I never re-opened it and restart the phone. The player is back after restart.

The 5th pic was for Mr Bojangles1 who asked earlier what my dropdown showed fully pulled down.
