Spotify Wakelocks on OnePlus 5

I have both the OP5 and S8 and am seeing a difference with how spotify behaves on the OP5.

On the OP5 despite having background data off it constantly runs in the background i.e. download updates to playlists so uses a lot of battery when doing nothing. On the S8 it does not do this.

Anybody else seeing this?

There is most likely a setting within spotify to disable this. Try looking for something such as auto update or background something

Could also be a manufacturer specific implementation, as I am sure some might have a stricter policy on background activity.

For OnePlus 5, I would recommend to enable aggressive Doze Mode under Developers Options. If this feature is not enabled, feel free to go to settings > about phone > tap the build number 7 - 10x. Once it is enabled go back to settings > developers options > Enable Doze Mode.
