Sprint 3G is Horrible

It would be nice if it was a small area. But all of north carolina sucks. Winston, greensboro, raleigh, no matter where you go your doing good if you it 200kbps.

For the last year I have been paying sprint for a wifi phone.

In md, some places are decent but then some places I go just seem underpowered...

My drive through nc didn't seem too bad 2 weeks ago...

I understand how you feel! Pensacola, Fl. is still in the dark too! But for some reason if you travel down I-10 you pick up blazing fast 4G until you hit the water... 4 carriers have it in my area except for mine! Devices are great and so is customer service, it all means nothing with a crappy signal! Suck Less Sprint!

I forgot I created this thread. I was in Florida for work last month. there is no 4G in the South Beach area of Miami. You would think Sprint would of had some 4G coverage there. Nope.

Fact of the matter is you sound worse than any fanboy. I think you meant to say that Sprint 3G sucks in that little area you're talking about. I've been everywhere from San Diego to NY and have rarely experienced problems. Sprint is no different than other carriers, they have their good areas and bad.

Okay, I understand, but that's not everywhere. Other than the north shore of Long Island, which has crappy service from every provider, I haven't had any issues in NY. Actually one part of Staten Island is shaky too. But luckily LTE is getting flipped on shortly. My point is still that every carrier has rough spots. It doesn't mean they're everywhere Luke some make it sound

You sure about that? Sprint has been a laggard in multiple cities (article quote) and is the only carrier who's speeds have dropped from last year. This article actually opened my eyes to Sprint and made me realize it wasn't just me. Here you go:

part 1
3G and 4G Wireless Speed Showdown: Which Networks Are Fastest? | PCWorld

part 2
3G/4G Performance Map: Data Speeds for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon | PCWorld

You're trying to defend Sprint and they don't deserve it right now. Any good will they built up over the year (I spent 11 with them) is gone because they ignored their network and let EVERYONE else pass them by. Really, the TMobile 3G numbers are pretty close to what I get with Sprint on 4G. Its painful and frustrating.

Yes, I am sure about that. As I said earlier, I have been all over the country and have lived in many different regions and have had more good than bad. Multiple cities...multiple cities are good too. Again, that's my point. I never said they had the fastest speeds, just that they aren't horrible everywhere like some try to push the rest of us to believe. One speed test in one spot in NYC is not an accurate test of speeds all over NYC, just like a few random tests aren't an accurate test of Sprints nationwide network. Is that so hard to get?

I can also go back to earlier posts and reiterate I question your actual phone. I've never had any issues on the LIRR. But, as I say to everyone, if you're not happy, feel free to more to another carrier. Choice is a wonderful thing.

You're trying real hard to defend Sprint when the fact are that they currently have the worst 3G and now 4G coverage. In advertising you're being a what we call a focus group of one. You don't have a problem so you say no one else must have a problem. An article that tested 10 different locations in 13 different cities (130 tests) that ALSO says Sprint has the WORST data speeds out of the 4 national carriers but its been fine for you so the article is wrong. An entire thread on the Sprint site itself devoted to iPhone users complaining about the slow data on Sprint but cause you haven't had any problems it can't be right.

Dude, give it a rest. To consistently come in last in 13 different tests tells you a lot about how Sprint has started to suck. To be the only network who's speeds have slowed down from the year before also tells you how Sprint is starting to suck. I would of given you the benefit of the doubt about my phone until I saw some of the complaints on the Sprint site and saw that their speeds were even worse than mine. Some from people also on the Ronkonkoma line of the LIRR.

Omg, there are multiple people here saying their speeds are fine. Of course some have issues. Go to any carrier site and you'll find that. I'm not trying hard to defend it, I'm just using some logic. I should give it a rest? You're the one that's unhappy and off contract, and instead of just going and switching, you're spending time getting on here and complaining about how horrible it is for you, lol. Maybe while you're at it, you can question my manhood for disagreeing with you like you seem to like to do in a few other threads, lol. Its very simple, you're not happy with Sprint, move on and stop complaining. See how that works?

Wow..you're sensitive...what are you a chick??

LOL..that was too easy...I couldn't resist.

I created a thread, its now at 2 pages of people agreeing and not agreeing. Why do you care so much? I tend to trust a test done by PC World in 13 cities vs the opinions of 10 people at most. So once again...why you worried about my complaining in my thread?

The better question is why are you? I'm not sensitive at all, just find it amusing that, 1 your standard fallback is questioning someones masculinity in regards to tech, which is hysterically pitiful, and 2 you choose to stay here and complain rather than doing the intelligent thing and switch carriers. So, tell me, why exactly do you choose to just rather than fixing your oh so horrible experience?

Wow...you completely missed the humor. Sad. However we are both amused at this back and forth. maybe for different reasons but still amused. For me my amusement comes are you avoiding the question of why do you care.

As for me complaining...you still haven't said why you care. You've tried to misdirect by pointing out me joking about people caring about he shiny back of the new Evo. However, you still haven't answered exactly why you care about how I feel about Sprint.

So........why do you care?

I feel everyone's pain! Sometimes when I'm outside the city in rural areas my coverage is bad which is to be expected but here in town(knoxville, tn) I get decent speeds.
But average around 300kbps View attachment 25479

No, I didn't miss the humor, just don't find 3rd grade level masculinity insults to be particularly funny, only sad. Why do I care? Because cluttering up the board with people complaining about crap they can easily change is ridiculous. Also, trying to convince all the people that say they have no issues is just as ridiculous. Its simple, you're out of contract and not happy. Why not change rather than complaining about how miserable you are here? Wouldn't that make more sense? That's not misdirecting, that's logic

Ahhh so we're offending your sensibilities. So what...get over yourself. If you don't like the thread don't read it. Problem solved.

Have a nice day.

Nope, not offending my sensibilities at all. Just find it amusing that you try to tell people having no issues they're wrong, and instead choose to complain about an easily fixable situation for yourself. If you don't like me pointing out your basic lack of sense here, then sorry, get over yourself and don't respond. Or you can do what anyone with a little bit of sense would, better your situation.

Your problem still comes down to the fact you're on the north shore. I know people up there on all different carriers and everyone has problems. Newsday just ran a big article about cell carriers and how many neighborhoods won't allow towers and that is why many areas on Long Island are horrible. Luckily most of the south shore is in good shape. I pull 1-2mbps all day long just about everywhere.

South shore ftw! I grew up in Bohemia but Sprint sucks whenever I go back there and visit my folks

To everyone having problems, have we tried, perchance, updating profile?
