Sprint 4G coverage vs Verizon

A few months ago on my EVO / EPIC i could get 5-7 Megs down in the Dallas area, now i am lucky to get 4 on a good day.
My parents live in a suburb and their Cear Modem at home went from almost full signal to no service / 1 bar. They are actually in the process of canceling service after being sent 4 different modems to try.
Keep in mind this is a residence and the modem hasnt moved. Not sure what they are doing to the network but its going down hill in Dallas area.
But this is just based off my experience with my parents modem and my personal usage on an EVO and EPIC.

4G is spotty at best here in Hammond, Indiana next to Chicago, Illinois. Sprint says we are in the 4G area, but when I turn on 4G I am lucky if it is on for a couple of minutes then GONE.

Here in Manhattan, Verizon and Sprint are basically equal. We have an LTE card and a Sprint card. Both are basically 4-5 up 1 - 2 down.
