debating if i should try FH13 or not...FF18 seems alright for me...decent enough battery life...during massive usage sure it drains...but during light to normal usage i got 36 hours to a full charge...i also did a factory reset/wiped cache partition before update...updated manually...then factory reset and wiped partition again...first few days and charge cycles were rough...but after the update settled in its been pretty good...just wondering if anyone can confirm any major issues with the FH13 update...any changes good or bad...wondering if i should or not...also...should i choose to update and have issues...is it possible to go back to FF18? im not rooted and running stock 4.0.4 FF18...if i update to FH13...can i do the "manual update" method and update from SD card back to FF18?

please and thank you!

Perhaps I spoke too soon. After a factory reset, I'm seeing much better results. (See attached!)

It should be some app you were using. Your phone was "awake" the whole time in the first screenshot. Also the second time your screen wasn't on as much.

Yep - I had been using the phone to read for about 30 minute in the first pic, but otherwise had no apps running. This was a fresh update plus Kindle. (I had very few apps installed, as I was running a rooted EL29 after problems with the prior Android update.) Something was messing the battery management up, for sure, but I'm not sure what it was -- during the time that the screen was off, 0 applications were running.

Went back to FF18. There's no way I'm wiping my phone with a factory reset to get performance benefits an "update" is supposed to provide. My battery life was pretty good with FF18. Could it have been better? Sure. But it was in no way a problem (who wouldn't want 6 months on a single charge? ;) )

But the whole concept of "updating" implies keeping what I have and getting the new stuff working as it should. My "update" to ICS was smooth. This was not. I'll wait for the next update to see if it's worth it.

I was surprised to see my phone pop an "update is ready to install" message on the drive in this morning. Battery life with FF18 has been wildly inconsistent and I've been unable to pin down exactly what's killing it on the bad days. I've had the stupid wi-fi sleep bug where it frequently doesn't switch back to wi-fi, but leaving it on all the time kills the battery at home.

I've used sfhub's rooted ODIN One-Clicks for EL29 and FF18 (used No_Data for GB; had to nuke it all with ICS, dammit!) but I'm not seeing anything for this OTA at xda. People there seem to be saying that the leaked version IS different from the OTA, so I want to make sure I've got the latest and greatest rooted OTA. Anyone got the proper link? Thanks.

the update seemed to have fixed some stuff on my phone, for one, the softkeys don't take forever to become responsive to touch after turning on the screen now. also the default web browser seems less sluggish too. overall the phone feels snappier.

the downside though is the 3g/4g signal strength has worsened. where as before at home i used to get a 3g signal, now i don't. it's basically like signal loss error with the circle w/ slash.
at work, there's no 3g signal either or comes in intermittently and quite weak. 4g is spotty as well. speeds seem to have worsened.

sigh....

Currently, I am running the rooted FF18 from XDA. When I installed it, I probably should have wiped the data, but instead chose the preserve data option. The phone is working so so, but having some of the issues with battery drainage and such. In light of this bit of info, I have a few questions swirling in my head and just wanting to know if I can get some quick yes or no's to the following:

1. I can't use the factory reset on the phone because it is rooted, correct?
2. If I use the autoroot package to remove root, can I then do a factory reset?
3. Will I get the OTA FF13 if I have the FF18 rooted currently installed?
4. Can I install the OTA FF13 or the One-click rooted (wipe data version) FF13 right on top of the current rooted FF18, or do I need to do something to clear the phone first?

PS. I would like to check out the FF13 either OTA or download, but would also like to factory reset this time, and either right away or eventually have root.

Thanks!
