Re: Sprint Galaxy Nexus Extended Battery-The Good, The Bad & The

I got mine on Tuesday, but I haven't put it in yet.

Question: what's the right way to condition a battery? I've read for the 1st 2 or 3 cycles to fully charge and then fully discharge, and then after that it doesn't matter. But since the battery comes with a 60% charge, do I start off by topping it off to 100% or do I use the 60% until it gone and then fully charge?

I didn't condition the Verizon 2100 mAh battery that I'm using now. I want to do it right to this new one and see if there a difference.

i charged mine fully out of the box then used it till the phone shut off then fully charged again, ran it dry for the second time its now charging again once its charged this time i will go back to normal charges

To be honest I believe that those tips really so nothing other than give you a full battery to specs. I think you have to take steps like automatic brightness, GPS off, vibration off on all notifications and calls, close apps constantly, turn off screen if not in use. I known that screen has a lot to do with it. So whatever little perks used helps. I noticed my 2100mah battery drains a lot slower and helps when its not in use. I turn my phone off if I know I won't be using it during the day. Like at work.

Re: Sprint Galaxy Nexus Extended Battery-The Good, The Bad & The

i suffer no hardships doing this -

Battery Tips for Android

1. Toggle off LTE, WIFI, GPS, BT, NFC, Hotspot. Toggle on as needed.
2. Display Brightness - Turn off Auto Brightness and Reduce Setting Bar to Minimum.
3. Sign out of Google Latitude, GTalk, G+, Google Now, and Messenger. Disable Location Reporting/History.
4. Beware of constantly syncing Apps and Bloatware like Facebook, Twitter, News, Non-Push Email, etc. Set Sync interval for every 1 hour or more.
5. Turn off keyboard haptic feedback.
6. Don't use Live Wallpaper. Use dark wallpaper if possible.
7. Set Display Sleep Setting to 2 Minutes or Less.
8. Set WIFI to Always stay on during Sleep if you regularly use WIFI.
9. Turn off vibrate for Emails.
10. Be careful of using too many live widgets.
11. Sync Exchange Emails 30 Days or less.
12. Do NOT use a Task Killer App.

The most important thing to remember is, 13. Don't Cross the Streams.

Why?

Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.

Good safety tip.

Thanks.

Re: Sprint Galaxy Nexus Extended Battery-The Good, The Bad & The

why is it that the best way to extend your battery is to not use the features that make it awesome in the first place?! Until battery tech catches up to the mobile phone tech we'll always be "next to a charger"

So far though my extended battery is ok. i have more screen off time than on and i'm down to 23% i think i have and hr and a half on time. I think we just need to accept barring placing this thing with a mini nuclear reactor were always going to have battery problems

So today is my first test. Results are in, all 3G no WiFi. A little better than old battery. Also using Juice Defender.

Re: Sprint Galaxy Nexus Extended Battery-The Good, The Bad & The

I suffer no hardships.

Neither do I most of my Android powered phones have been around the same battery time. I think it all depends on usage. There are times I can go a day without charging, and sometimes I can barely make it 8 hrs. I found an easy solution by just buying a car charger, and @ work I have a spare charger just in case. My work is in a horrible signal area so that could also be why my battery stats are bad.

The 2100 battery is working perfectly for me so far.
We will see how it stands up to some heavier weekend use.

Re: Sprint Galaxy Nexus Extended Battery-The Good, The Bad & The

My results after letting it completely die and fully charge.
@ 16% remaining (I ran out of "day" to test further, needed it fully charged in the AM, so plugged in when I went to bed).
Tonight will render me a better time result, as I don't need to be up in the AM, so I can run it down further.

15hr 47m 58s
Screen 58% [Screen time on 2hr 54m 8s.] Auto Brightness setting enabled.
Phone idle 8%
Maps 7%
Cell standby 7% [Moderate signal @ work, Moderate to strong at home, Dead spots in transit]
Angry Birds Space 7%
Voice calls 3%

Re: Sprint Galaxy Nexus Extended Battery-The Good, The Bad & The
