I just got a replacement for my botched Nexus, this new one has 0% Time Without Signal (the old one had 50% and was eating batteries) so the new one is off to a better start.

The new one still has the old firmware GRJ06D. I am wondering of anyone noticed issues arising from the GRJ22 update. In particular, anyone get the Tine Without Signal issue as a result of the update? OR are they unrelated? I just want to be sure before installing this thing. Thanks.

What are you using to figure out the time without signal?

I got a new device but updated it to GRJ22, but so far have had no issues with signal loss.

If you go into:
Settings>About Phone>Battery Use>Cell Standby you will see it.

I just accepted the update and my TWS is still 0%...so far so good.

When I got my NS4G it came preloaded with GRJ22 but I have no signal issues. Just checked mine and it is showing on for 16h 26m and time without a signal is 0%.

I have GRJ22 and no signal issues either. Was in Ocean City last week and had an average of 22% signal loss there, but that is only place I have had signal problems in. My friend has Verizon and he had a wonderful 53% signal loss there <g> (he has the thunderbolt)....I think Sprint does better in OC, don't you?

I have GRJ22 and my signal issues are very real... Seems like it's more the way the phone is managing the connections rather than actual signal strength issues... even with -65dbm or greater signal the phone jumps between 3g / 1x / nothing and WiFi starts /fails/restarts etc even with it set to never sleep.

Are you sure that's what that means? I don't think what you are saying is correct. It seems to be the amount if battery that has been used while the phone has been idle.

So is this update supposed to fix the signal issue because I just bought a new Nexus S phone.

not really, it is the update they released a day after the phone was launched, might have been the same day.

For those with the TWS issue....have ya'll tried the airplane mode "fix"? Works on optimus and echo.... only thing is that it has to be done after every reboot.

Put phone in airplane mode for at least 10 seconds and then turn it off.....

Can't wait for my upgrade in a couple months........:)
