90 milion is a theoretical value. Most likely it will offer around 28 as a real world value as from that comparison website

I think the Galaxy looks nice, especially the screen technology, but like many, just not keen on the iPhone look and feel -- not just with the hardware, but also with the software! Of course, this is adaptable no doubt, like most Android things are. I think I'll stick with EVO for now, I'd be far more interested in upgrading in a years time to see how things have developed, and also, by the time this is released, I think the EVO will be nicely established with good community support. Still, it's great there will be so many more Android choices in the future!

Coming from an iPhone, using the EVO keyboard is wonderful. I do like having an external keyboard for games, doing SSH/console stuff, and the faster navigation (start typing to search, spacebar to scroll down).

However after my very poor experience with my Motorola Backflip being locked down and not getting firmware upgrades, I'm really nervous to use non-HTC phones. I know it takes HTC a long time to upgrade firmware, but so far they have done better than moto has with blur phones. I flip back and forth on if I like Sense better than default Android, but I certainly like blur and touchwiz worse than default. Plus I think Samsung locks down their phones more.

The camera is probably actually a win for Samsung. The 5MP on the backflip was pretty much just as good as the EVO, and Samsung is a real camera company. Also I think video on the Galaxy S is supposed to be better than the EVO, which kinda stinks.

The other issue is the screen. I have a very hard time seeing my EVO screen in sunlight, and it sounds like the AMOLED screens are even worse. Samsung claims the Super AMOLED is great, but I think that remains to be seen. If the Galaxy comes out and reviews say the screen is better in direct sunlight than the EVO, and it gets as hacked as the EVO has been, I'm going to want one. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the EVO.

As soon as I tried the EVO store demo and saw how choppy it was just scrolling through the app list (later found to be due to 30FPS limitation), I canceled my purchase. Since then, the EVO has just been a laundry list of letdowns - glass separation, grounding/capacitance issues, insanely low 720p recording bitrate, battery issues up the wazoo, earpiece issues, choppy gaming, the list goes on. Granted some of these issues are related to manufacturing batch, but it's still enough for me to write this phone off.

The Galaxy S' screen & CPU run circles around the EVO, and with the Sprint-branded Pro spotted yesterday, it can't be too far from launch. :)

Yeah I'm thinking of returning my Evo because of this. If I remember correctly, the 1ghz cpu the galaxy has is almost identical to the one the ipad has.

The only physical keyboard I'm interested in is front qwerty. I hate sliders, especially horizontal ones.

I can't understand why, given the popularity of the Bold and the Curve, no Android handset is available in a front qwerty form factor. Certainly Android can handle an HVGA display.

I am not sure why anyone doesn't mention this when comparing the two. The Galaxy S completely blows away the Evo in terms on computing power. Not to mention, it uses less power since the chip is 45nm.

Here is a benchmark of the Galaxy S. (I cant post links, search Galaxy S benchmark on youtube) Something to consider when watching, the app, Neocore, is optimizied for Qualcomm processors (Galaxy uses a Samsung ARM Cortex A8) and the Galaxy S is only running Android 2.1.

And if this doesn't sell you, I am not sure what will.

"To demonstrate the differences, Motorola’s Droid is capable of processing 7 million triangles per second, Nexus One output 22 million tri/second and iPhone 3GS at 28 million tri/second.

The Samsung Galaxy S? The “Hummingbird” A8 chip processes at 90 million triangle per second. That ’s at least 3 times more than the closest runner-up."

Source:careace dot net(I cant post links yet)

And for a power comparison, the PS3 calculates 250 million triangles per second.

The fact that the beautiful screen can be left on max brightness all day and consume 60% less power than a TFT and the extremely powerful CPU/GPU is much more power efficient than a Snapdragon makes it extremely difficult to pass up.

I personally like slider phones. I currently have the Samsung Moment and I'm very happy with it. I was thinking about getting the EVO but was put off a little bit as I'm not a huge fan of touch screen only phones. I was thinking about getting the EVO since I do think it's a great phone but then I read about the Galaxy S Pro and would much rather have that.

we will see when they announce more about it because there is limit we know about it I think before july we will know full specs and more pictures.

Galaxy?

1. ugly
2. no HTC Sense or HTC build quality/design
3. i hate sliders
4. i hate side keyboards
5. thick?

The build quality of the HTC EVO is definately questionable at this point with so many issues going on with it. I am personally waiting for more inventory so I can get a third replacement EVO

I am one of those people that needs a physical keyboard because of my life and the things I do. And my OCD sucks with the finger prints on the EVO screen. So I will be selling my EVO.

I'm in the same boat as you with the OCD thing. I'm using the Moment now and I'm constantly cleaning my screen and look for ways to NOT have to touch my screen :p

EPIC VS EVO who will win CONTINUE THE VOTES : )
I did want to get the EVO but ever since I've been hearing more and more about the Epic I want to go for that instead.
