Sprint HTC One - Android 4.3 Update - Discussion Thread

You need to set your Roaming setting appropriately: SETTINGS>MOBILE DATA>ROAMING > HOME ONLY ... A common mistake by people who haven't had their phones setup properly, is having your phone on AUTOMATIC causes in my experience, an increase in signal issues and dropped calls (75% + more)---also, since your phone is set to roam, its ALWAYS SEARCHING for Roaming towers--a HUGE hit on battery---set to Home only--not saying you'll feel 100%, but you will see HUGE diff in your problems mentioned.

I don't know about this--wouldn't this essentially turn off roaming so you only use your carrier? I have Sprint in Boston, and my phone often makes good use of Verizon's network since Sprint, well, sucks. Further, Verizon added subway network which Sprint does not have.

Would turning it to Home stop it from using Verizon?

That would be my thinking too...

I live in the Washington DC area an Verizon is the major player in DC and also has the lines in the Metro Subway tunnels, so at times, I need to Roam.

This has been bothering me also. Apparently this is from a change in the Android code. As a work around, you can set the notification sound for FB and Gmail to be none and it should stop vibrating

Issue 39592 - android - Don't vibrate in silent mode for notifications that include sound - Android Open Source Project - Issue Tracker - Google Project Hosting
Issue 39918 - android - Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.2: Vibrate notification for emails persists despite turning off all email notifications - Android Open Source Project - Issue Tracker - Google Project Hosting

I'm also having an issue with my Notification LED never lighting up. All of the boxes are checked under "Display, gestures, and buttons", but I'm not seeing it flash.

I am suffering from the exact same issue. I called HTC support and they told me that I was the first and only person to report it. They told me it might just be my phone. Everyone needs to call this in because I have been missing phone calls because I've had to put my phone on silent since Facebook and Mail cause my phone to constantly vibrate and drain battery. So annoying.

Any one experiencing weaker LTE signal since the 4.3 update should call HTC right away 1-866-449-8358.

Since 4.3 the signal bars represent data signal now and not voice signal.

I would bet its a rouge app causing the battery drain. I live in Northern Mi. with real limited sprint towers and my battery drain is no wheres near that bad. Like i said i would bet money its a app that might not be compatible with 4.3 yet or he needs to clear the cache

From my understanding, the signal bars now reflect data connection rather than the previous voice connection.

Sent from my HTC One using AC Forums App.

Kinda weird though that it still has the 3g/4g icons.....
