Sprint LG G2: Google Play Music issue?

I ended up using Sprint's 6 month free trial (for framily members) to switch back to Spotify. Spotify has improved quite a bit since I switched to Google play. Still not perfect but at least the songs don't cut out all the time!

I'm having this issue my T-Mobile LG G2 as well, but I don't think it's an LG problem. I have had this issue with 5 previous T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z1S phones and with a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 that was on Kit Kat. Songs stop playing randomly and will not resume playing after pushing play. I either have to push play 2-6 times after clearing the error or I have to skip to the next song. The next song does the same thing. I want to cancel and go to something else but there is not anything else like Play Music that I can find. This has been going on since at least Janurary for me.

Yesterday's Google Play Music update *seems* to have solved the issue. Was having the problem on my LG Optimus G7 II, stopped every song or two with a playback error. After the update yesterday I tried it for 45 minutes this morning and it was without stoppages.

I can assure you all this isn't an isolated LG issue. I have the exact same problem on my Samsung S3. It's a recent phenomenon too. It's started happening over the last few months and I've just been putting up with it. I only listen to music stored locally on my SD card so there's no streaming, I'm in the car and playing over bluetooth and generally the only other app running (that I've started - God only knows what other background tasks are running) is Waze. I've just got the latest Play Music update a couple of days ago, so let's see if that helps at all.
