Was out friday night at green turtle in arrundel MD, across the street from the new casino. When my buddy noticed his phone went to 4G but dropped back to 3G...so i rebooted my phone and yep...my phone went to 4G also then 3G again....did a test with dslreports and saw the following even though it said 3G in the signal bar..strange but true...attached pics.

Notice i was in arrundel, but the server says Washington DC, and not Baltimore. also says washington dc BETA!! Network says LTE.

hope its good news for the next few weeks.

anyone else saw or experienced this?

Arundel is included in the Baltimore area of upgrades whether it be Aberdeen, Essex, pikes ville or Arundel....

Not doubting you but why does the server say Washington DC BETA and not Baltimore?

Just saw the MAP of the listed sites and you are correct, as it covers columbia too...but the server should have said Baltimore i think....

You connected to a server out of DC. DC is its own network and isn't included in the "Baltimore" but if you're in Arundel then look for 4g to be online on the 29th. DC I believe is scheduled for 4g later this year by Nov.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

I think a lot of testing is going on. I'm in DC and when I do a speed test at the Judiciary Square subway I get the Washington DC beta, VA, and Baltimore. Depends on the time of day.

I've noticed huge bumps in 3G speeds every now and then in the Crystal City area, but I haven't sniffed any 4G yet.

The server is the host for the speed test, not where tower you are connected to is located.
