[SPRINT] "OFFICIAL" JellyBean Discussion

Re: [SPRINT] "OFFICIAL" JellyBean Speculation

Well, since we just got an update (LI13), I don't think JB is coming in 2 weeks. I'm guessing January 2013.
If this follows the time frame for the Nexus radio update, then JB (~ 6 weeks); I'm guessing end of October to first week of November.

Knowing sprint? Everyone is saying that they always release OS's after everyone else. Tmob may get it first and what not, but usually sprint has it first from my memory.

You want it all but you can't have it.

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after you.

I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong thread, but JellyBean for Sprint has leaked and is running great.

Freeza posted it XDA and there is a video on QBKing77.com.

I am running that now. So far it is running great fast. Don't notice any bugs. Based on this we may have the final version by the end of the month. I hope anyway.

The new folders are really cool.

Re: [SPRINT] "OFFICIAL" JellyBean Speculation

Very new to rooting, installing ROM's and everything before and after on android. If I were to install a "version" of J.B. and then receive an update OTA for it would there be a difference? I guess my real question is, is rooting (voiding warranty from what I've read) worth receiving an update a few days, weeks, months early? I love the phone so far but Definitely don't want to chance bricking my phone and going back to my old EVO. Thanks for any input.

It just depends on how bad you want the update. Some people wouldn't own a phone that isn't rooted. others could care less. It's just a personal thing for me. I rooted mine almost immediately.

From what I understand, it doesn't void the warranty with Sprint :)

Re: [SPRINT] "OFFICIAL" JellyBean Speculation

With everyone's mind turning towards JellyBean, I thought it a good idea to try and keep it confined to a single thread.

Post all of your rumors, speculation, whining, complaining and disgust over how the JellyBean release is going, here.

There is no reason to post more than a single thread. When it comes out. There will be several more threads I will open for the same purpose.

Thanks

Thanks Skunkape, I got the Sprint JB rom from your list and so far it's working perfect. I really enjoy my new GS3. :)

Re: [SPRINT] "OFFICIAL" JellyBean Speculation

So as of now is anybody's guess as to when, if it happens the SGS3 in Sprint will get JB?!

I know how you feel, I have the Photon 4G and do have decent 4G Wimax in Raleigh NC, that's why I'm not sure of getting the SGS3!

Re: [SPRINT] "OFFICIAL" JellyBean Speculation

got mine on saturday and the rep is a buddy of mine so his info is semi reputable, but basically they are expecting JB early next year so thats a little more consistent with the general belief regarding their slow releases

Precisely sprint doesn't care if you root your phone as long as your not returning phone after phone due to it. Trust me I know from experience.

I have to agree though doctor who is a great show for being on BBC, but I prefer kitchen nightmares ;)
