Sprint or T-Mobile???

Moto X pure is pretty much flagship and works on any carriers including ST, so does the iPhone , Nexus 5x/6p. Nothing limits you to a prepaid phone.

I can agree with this that you can get whatever phone so no limits there but some may simply not want to go with a prepaid. They may want some of the benefits of T-Mobile versus a prepaid. If the coverage for a carrier is good for where that person lives / travels then coverage doesn't matter as much. I fall into that category. Everywhere I go for work / play is covered so the extra coverage from the other guys isn't as beneficial when it comes to something like my unlimited data from T-Mobile.

Yes, I agree there's many phones that will work. However, like I said you have to bring in an unlocked phone and pay full price for it initially if you wanted the current flagship. How much is a iPhone 6s plus 128GB going for or a nexus 6p?
How many out there would rather pay either a monthly installment or a subsidiary for the for a $600.00-1000.00
Phone?
BTW, straight talk plan included only 5GB high speed? Then 2G speeds after the 5GB for 45 dollars? Then if you wanted to add mobile Hotspot? $15 dollars for 1GB up to $75 for 7GB?
My current plan with T-mobile's simple choice amped unlimited for 4 lines is actually a much better deal if you needed multiple lines.
If I went with Straight Talk? It would cost me the same 180.00 (St $45.00x4=$180.000). With T-Mobile I have a corporate discount of 15%. So...It actually cost me 153.00+ taxes etc. Which comes to 160.00 that's is 40.00 per line after fees.
The SCA plan also includes free international data and free wifi calling from over a hundred International countries plus 14 GB Mobile Hotspot each month. Bottom line, A person like me would be paying more and getting less if I went with straight talk. .

But technically each company has a Flagship so the Moto X Pure could be that for Moto. I personally don't count any HTC phones as a flagship as they have just gone really down hill.

Fair to discount the HTCs.

That's it

What's your definition?

For me it is the top phone from the manufacturer since every phone company can have their flagship phone. By your list you're excluding a lot of phones like the Pure Edition. I have used both the Pure Edition and now the Nexus 6P and there isn't anything the Note offers that the 6P doesn't (except the Stylus). Does it mean one dominates another? No -- just depends what you like / prefer.

You either pay upfront or over time. With contracts, unless you trade every two years you get reamed.
